MR FOLUSO AKEEM MUSTAPHA – MEMBER

Foluso Akeem Mustapha was born on the 24th June, 1969 in Lagos, Nigeria. He started his education with Adeola Odutola Elementary School, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, from there he proceeded to Baptist High School Obanikoro, Lagos for his secondary education. Thereafter, he attended Federal Government College, Odogbolu for his A- levels. He proceeded to Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye for his bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 1993. He qualified as a Chartered accountant in 1998 as an Associate member and became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2012.  He qualified as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 2002 and was conferred Fellowship in year 2020.

Foluso Mustapha started is work career with Nigerian Merchant Bank Limited from 1994 to 1997, where he left as Internal Audit Manager. Between 1997 and 1999 he worked with Coopers and Lybrand (now PWC). Upon the merger of Pricewater house and Coopers and Lybrand in 1999, He left and worked briefly with Akintola Williams & Co. It was from there he decided to go into private practice by joining his father’s accounting firm Messrs Olatunde Mustapha & Co. (Chartered Accountants) that same year. From 1999 till date, he has been in private practice with specialisation in audit assurance services and taxation. Foluso is now the Managing Partner of the firm.

In 2013, he joined two of his friends from KPMG and Delloite to set up a financial and business process consultancy firm, OMCPARTNERS. The Company provides financial, technical and business solutions consulting services to companies in the oil and gas, manufacturing, technology, financial services, communication and FMCG sectors of the economy. Foluso is the pioneer and current Managing Consultant of the Firm.

In April, 2019, Foluso Mustapha was appointed as Member of the Finance Work Group of The Economic Transition Committee of the current Ogun State government, where he was nominated as the Vice Chairman of the Taxation and Internally Generated Revenue sub committee. In July 2019, he was also appointed by the Governor of Lagos state to serve as member of the Lagos State Projects, Finance and Process Compliance Audit (SPF-PCA) Committee. He contributed immensely to the deliverables of these assignments. Foluso Mustapha has proven himself as a thorough professional in his chosen career. He has a very strong leadership abilities and analytical skills, managerial and conceptual competencies, excellent interpersonal relationship and strong business sense. He is an excellent achiever and motivator, an accomplished professional accountant and business man.  He gets work done efficiently and he is a committed professional. Foluso Mustapha is married to Mrs. Ibitope Mustapha and has two children. He is widely travelled and enjoys going on vacation and meeting people. He also likes playing table tennis and cycling. He is a practising Muslim.
