Born on the 19th of April, 1982 in Oregun, Lagos, Mrs. Fatimah Omolola Akanbi – Afolabi attended Community Primary School, Ojodu Abiodun in Ogun State before proceeding to Community High School, also in Ogun State in 1996 for her secondary education where she obtained her National Examination Council School Certificate in 2002. She continued her education by proceeding to the Lagos State Polytechnic (now Lagos State University of Technology) where she obtained both her Ordinary National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Computer Science in 2005 and 2008 respectively.
Mrs. Akanbi-Afolabi had her National Youth Service in the ICT Unit of the Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.
After successfully completing her National Youth Service, her desire for more knowledge took her to the Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos in 2006 where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Economics in 2010.
Mrs. Akanbi-Afolabi joined the Lagos State Civil Service as an Assistant Data Processing Officer in 2011 and rose through the ranks to her present position as a Chief Programme Analyst. She has worked in various Ministries, including the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology (MIST), Oracle and the Ministry of Housing. She was deployed to the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency on 29th November, 2023 where she currently serves as the Head of the ICT Unit.
She has attended several workshops, conferences and seminars in the course of her career in the Civil Service of Lagos State.
Mrs. Akanbi-Afolabi became a member of the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (MCPN) in 2014. She is also a member of the Certified Information Technology Professionals (CITP®), Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). She is currently pursuing her certification in Cyber Security.
She is happily married with children.
